I have a new love of plywood.

It's inexpensive, it's got unique grain patterns, you can paint it, stain it, whatever you want.

And it can produce some pretty killer art.

Here are two pieces I've done in the past few weeks.

The first, a 7'' by 4'' standing mirror.

Our apartment has some HUGE wall space and this wall is no exception.

The total cost of supplies came to about $70 and it took just over an hour of actual labor (staining, gluing clamping). The base is white washed and the boarder is stained with Minwax in Slate.

And most recently I finished this piece with a stencil from our sponsor, Cutting Edge.

Total cost: $18

Like the stencil?
Watch out for a $50 credit giveaway starting tomorrow from Cutting Edge
Go here to take a look at which stencil you'd chose with the credit.

If you want to hang plywood art on your walls, a standard picture kit and hooks would be sufficient.

Make sure to come back for the Cutting Edge Stencil giveaway tomorrow!
